FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Athletica Health + Wellness is a private clinic and fees are applicable for all assessments and therapy services. Many clients are eligible for financial support through various schemes. See below for the various schemes that we support.

DVA
To access osteopathic services you will need to get a referral to an osteopath covered by the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) from: your general practitioner (GP), a medical specialist, your treating doctor in hospital, a hospital discharge planner.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
At Athletica Health + Wellness, we proudly support our veterans and service members by offering osteopathy services covered under DVA.
If you hold a DVA Gold Card, you may be eligible for fully funded treatment for clinically necessary conditions. White Card holders may also qualify if treatment relates to an accepted condition.

  • Include your DVA number

We'll take care of the rest, including all the paperwork and billing—so you can focus on your health and recovery.

CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT PLAN (CDM)/ENHANCED PRIMARY CARE PLAN (EPC)
The Chronic Diseases Management Plan (CDM) is a Medicare-rebated funding program for people who have chronic medical conditions (classified as a condition that has been present for at least 6 months).
It consists of 5 (maximum) rebates per calendar year for Allied Health services (i.e. Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Osteopathy). If you are accessing more than one type of therapy you are entitled to share the CDM sessions across the therapists (i.e. not 5 rebates per service).

PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE
Some of the costs of therapy may be rebated by your private health fund. Please contact your individual fund as to whether you are eligible for a rebate.

WORKCOVER AND TAC
Workcover and TAC may provide funding for you to access our services. Please let us know when you call if you are planning on using this funding to pay for therapy services as there may be a gap payment required.

THE NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME (NDIS)
The NDIS provides all Australian’s under the age of 65 who have a permanent or significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need in order to achieve their goals.
If eligible for NDIS, the individual will receive funding on an annual basis to buy the services and aids you need to achieve your goals and achieve optimal independence.
Athletica is registered provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

How Do I Claim Osteopathy Through The NDIS?
To claim Osteopathy services under NDIS you need to have an approved support plan.
For self managed NDIS clients who are seeking Osteopathic treatment to enhance your function for activities of daily living you will need to do the following:
-Bring a copy of your current NDIS support plan to your chosen Osteopath.
-Ask your Osteopath to write a letter to your case manager. This is to include a description of the therapeutic and functional approach that will be used to reach your plan goals.
-Your case manager and NDIS will work together to determine what services are ‘reasonable and necessary’ to manage your functional needs.

Does NDIS Cover Massage?
Yes, massage may be covered by the NDIS in some cases. Massage would need to be included in your NDIS plan (your client’s plan if you are a support coordinator or agency).
There are two categories that that it may make sense to include massage under:

  • Improved Daily Living

  • Improved Health and Wellbeing

Many people find that massage can help with chronic pain management. It can also be helpful for relieving stress, anxiety, and depression.
