WHAT IS EXPECTED DURING A PREGNANCY OSTEOPATHY TREATMENT
After critical assessment of the body and it’s issues, treatment mainly involves focus on the soft tissues through gently treating tendons, muscles, joints and ligaments. It will also include some prescribed home exercises, specific to each women's body, to consistently focus on relieving discomfort and pain, as well as conditioning the body for birth.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT
Commonly, the treatment continues to have an effect over the coming days, which is why it is encouraged to rest afterwards. Rest is very important post-treatment to allow your body to recover and heal, whether you feel pain free or not. It is not rare to experience symptoms or feel sore or tired. Occasionally, symptoms may worsen before they improve, usually improving within 24-48 hours post-treatment.

POST TREATMENT:
Both after birth and after osteopathic treatment, it is recommended to avoid impact activities, those especially including abdominal pressure. It is advisable to engage in gentle activities that focus on re-educating your posture, including:
- focussing on good posture while breastfeeding
- lifting objects/weights from the floor with correct form - flexing the knees while maintaining a straight back
- having a stool to support the foot & avoiding overload on the lumbar spine while doing daily activities

SENIOR'S OSTEOPATHY
As we all grow older, a variety of health changes occur that ultimately affect our ability to independently function. Many of these changes are a result of restricted movement and/or gradual loss of physical capacity. It is our job to help with joint flexibility, muscle relaxation and postural balance, whilst working on reducing bodily pain.
